I did read http://drupal.org/node/48737, however, my custom action dis not appear in the list. (what am i doing wrong?)
even the simple sample does not work...

function action_do_something($op, $edit = array(), $node) {
/* ACTION SNIPPET CODE GOES HERE */
}

Use this instead: http://drupal.org/node/172152 if you are using 5.x-2.x. Read the difference between old-style and Drupal-6-style actions on the actions project page.
