I'm trying to use action views to edit CCK fields. Which works as expected accept if the fields is a drop down list, or even a list of radio buttons. When the field is a drop down list for example it will only read the first letter for the word chosen.

For example; I have a drop down where "want" and "have" are the two choices. If you choose "want", rather than setting the field to want it sets it to "w". Or if the choice is a list of numbers it will only grab the first digit. If the field is a free form text entry, rather than a select list it saves it just fine.

any thoughts on how to fix this, or what is causing it?

which version of php are you using?

I have done some testing on my own, I had tested the same site on php4 and on php5.

My opinion is that the problem is only present on php4, on php5 disappears.
Maybe this can be useful to you.

This Module will no longer be maintained (shocker) as this functionality is mainly present in VBO and thats what we started using internally.
