The theme lacks support for breadcrumbs. This -in my opinion- is a necessary part of an effective navigation scheme.

i'm not sure why breadcrumbs are not working for me (6.x). I have menu items with submenus showing up in the left sidebar. I have not used links primary/secondary because as a new user i am totally confused regarding the difference between links and menus (still searching the vast and completely unorganized docs for that answer ... just try searching drupal.com for "links menus", there are like 3 million hits ... and pointers to a useful page on this topic would be very much appreciated)

so, in the Abarre theme, do breadcrumbs depend on primary/secondary links to work (in which case are they limited to those two levels) ... or how could i make breadcrumbs show up just using menus for the nav links on my site? See http://ade.pt. Click on "about -ade", then on "experience" ... you'll see that the breadcrumb text still says "Home" ... ???

thanks,

kazar

I hear your pain, and let me introduce you to a very useful little module :

http://drupal.org/project/menutrails

You're having a hard time because I don't think the breadcrumb is working as it should in d6. This should be fixed in d7 I hope.

Also, have a look in pathauto if you're not using it. It's also VERY useful.

thank you for those pointers. I will def look at those modules.

But I also suspect I simply need to study more to understand Primary/Secondary Links verus Menus/Submenus ... what makes them distinct and on the other hand how they relate to each other. For now I'm not getting that part, and whether breadcrumbs are working or not in core Drupal I think I need to understand this aspect of Drupal site organization better.

thanks again!
