The GDPR module has two versions for Drupal 8:

* 8.x-1.x (at alpha19 from March 2019)
* 8.x-2.x (at alpha7 from March 2019)

Right now, the gdpr_simplenews module does not work with latest alpha of 8.x-1.x and has not been tested with 8.x-2.x. The aim would be to have it working for both (need to check how different these actually are).
