This release improves Drupal 9 migration substantially and fixes a critical bug for importing Wordpress XML files into Drupal. Thank you to everyone for evaluating the issues and patches here as we move into Drupal 9.
The Readme has been updated to include assistance for database connection drop error messages including possibly necessary PHP extensions for processing XML and changing the settings.php connection string to the main Drupal database.
wordpress_migrate has existed since 2010 and with release 8.x-3.0-alpha4 it can now run on Drupal 8 and 9. Use this module with the 'migrate' framework to import WordPress XML files. The Readme has been updated with the latest information

The initial development release for wordpress_migrate for Drupal 8. Migrations should be run with Drush after configuring through the web interface. All patches this year committed by HongPong.
