Automatic email sent to the Weblink owner about his site listing at the Drupal site

hi guys,

just wondering if it is possible to add a feature of an automatic email being sent to the Weblink owner whose link has been added to the directory and also to the member who has submitted the link. Administrator defines the email body (for eg. an intimation letter, approved listing, for a link exchange etc.) alongwith the feature activation in the administration module.

and maybe the same functionality can be added to other node type submissions also. i.e. an auto-email making the member aware about his content approval.
