I'm thinking that the event should be bound higher up the stack, maybe to the .media-widget? Since the media-widget is a form element which can be used anywhere, I think this might be the most clear implementation.

Thoughts?

Hi, given the age of this issue and the fact 1.x is in feature lock. Closing this issue.

If feel it should be reopen suggest look at current 2.x branch and reopen.
