Appears to break Slideshow Module when activated

I had a couple of plain-vanilla Slideshows on a site. I added Filefield Paths and File Aliases and after experimenting a bit with each, it appears that File Aliases kills Slideshows when enabled (the image attachments appear as text links as normal, the slideshow just doesn't load).

I'm not sure if this is inherent in File Aliases or if it's just a settings issue within FF Paths, File Aliases, File Uploads or Slideshow itself.

Any advice appreciated.
