I have tried this module a couple times and can not get it to save a field to a private setting.

When I click the eye above the field, choose hidden, and then click OK, that little eye blinks at me but remains open.

Attached is the screen shot of the privacy setting, seems simple.

To be clear this is an existing node with existing fields, don't know whether that should make a difference.

I do not want the Private Status so only dependency seems to be jQuery UI which Status Report shows as 1.6.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Same story here. I have updated Jquery UI to 1.7 but no banana. Nothing is getting written to the database. The private fields table is empty. I have tried with Garland theme and Basic theme. Dev and non Dev.

Dialog opens and let's you choose options, submit, eye blinks, eyecon doesn't change. My JavaScript knowledge is nil, so I'm left blinking back at the eye in confused frustration.

Anybody any suggestions what to try next? How about you itserich, did you have any luck or did you end up using something else for private field functionality.

Any pointers appreciated.

This appears to be an incompatibility problem with Content Profile module. Perhaps this is because CCK private field data in the form is getting stripped out by content profile. Disabling the hide "Other form elements (except for required CCK fields)" in content profile settings allowed CCK private fields to work again. Unfortunately it also introduces an unwanted form element, a taxonomy select form, into my profile.

I am using Content Profile module and having the same problem. I also have the problems mentioned in http://drupal.org/node/1028598 and http://drupal.org/node/559714. This module has some good features, but it seems to be very buggy, and the module has been updated or supported by the maintainer for a while. Is it still being supported?

@Nick_Haughton, I unchecked the "Other form elements (except for required CCK fields)" option in content profile settings as you suggested. It looks like the icon works properly now (it changes after changed by registering user on the registration form, and it displays the default icon configured in admin settings). But on the node edit form, the problem remains (as you mentioned in #1). Basically the user can't change anything. I am using Garland theme and have tried dev and non dev as well.

Any help or update?
