From README.txt:
Upload facebook-php-sdk (http://github.com/facebook/php-sdk/) into fbconnect module folder (or into libraries folder, if you want to use it with the libraries module)
(What is the "libraries module"?)
I got alpha2 working from the /sites/all/libraries folder, but not alpha3. Had to move facebook-php-sdk to the /sites/all/modules/fbconnect folder.

Anonymous (not verified) commentedOK, then it's the "Libraries API" module. When searching for http://www.google.hu/search?q=drupal+libraries+module the first result I get is the Library module at http://drupal.org/project/library Besides, some modules like CKEditor work without any bridge module. The external library can be dropped in the /libraries folder and that's it, so I was expecting the same behavior here.
