Is this a live project? I'm a bit uncertain as to how working it is.

I've reasonably familiar with RDF databases and have been looking for some kind of web based wrapper to allow for viewing and editing - which I think the construct module may help me to do.

I understand that this module is just an interface to structWSF which does a lot of the hard work. However I'm reading http://openstructs.org/structwsf/installation-guide and lots of (little) things seem out of date - particularly with respect to Ubuntu packages :-)

Shall I stick with it?

presumably I should ask over there about any structsWSF problems, and here only stuff relating to the Drupal module...?

Hi Alex!

Sure it is a live project. The best place where to start is certainly with the installation guide, howerver refer to this one for the latest version[1]. If it seems out of date, it is simply because the latest ubuntu version tested with all these steps have been that one. However, multiple users successfully installed the latest version of ubuntu, with success, with this installation manual.

Also refer to the techwiki for general documentation about all the related projects [2].

The best place where to check for issues, ask questions and interact with the community is on the OSF mailing list here [3]. So please send any new questions to that mailing list!

Cheers,

I'll see how I get on, and try to write up my experience.

I'm still not sure what StructsWSF can do other than the CitizenDan system. We shall see...

Hi Alex!

Would be wonderful if you could write your experience. Also don't forget to make me aware of your writings so that I can read what you have to say, which could lead to future modifications.

About structWSF, in a nutshell: it is the structured data management layer. All the data management (CRUD) and data access (via the search, browse, sparql, etc, endpoints) is done via web service endpoints. So, structWSF is a Web Service Framework (it is what WSF means).

structWSF is what feeds the data to conStruct, the Seamantic Components and any other kind of clients software.

Hope it helps,

Thanks,

Fred
