I supposed this was a bug on my code for xapian backend, but I was able to reproduce this behaviour on a clean D7 install with solr search.

I documented it on a video to make it easy to reproduce:

The real problem is fields liek "server name" or "server class" are repeated after selecting the solr service class(the same for my xapian patch :-p).

Is this a bug? or I'm using bad the api?

In was a bug in the API, thanks for pointing it out. Guess that passing the whole $form array to the construction method was a stupid idea. Also, other things weren't really thought through …

But yes, it's fixed.
