Personal dashboard - good idea to always auto-save.
Group dashboard that a lot of people see - good idea to preview and save when done.

When I test with the latest dev here, the group dashboard has a default but when changed, it's changed by/per user (and not for the group per se).

I couldn't find information on how Homebox is supposed to work with the groups in the end, so here my ideas of use cases:

Personal Home - global default, each user can configure
Group Home - global default and then...
a) either group owners can configure it for their groups (e.g. an edit-right for group owners, a view right for all) or
b) each user can configure it to his/her likings (would practically be an override?).

It would be great if both options were available, because I imagine that some group owners would prefer solution a) - makes user support easier and gives more control over what people see on the start page.

If the user configuration would work like an override, group owners might be able to set this option for their own group. Example:
Group A, B, C are globally configured. Group C owner allows users their own configuration. Users who have configurations see that one for group C - all others see the global setting.

On top level I can imagine that users would like to have different start pages for different groups, as not all groups might have the same usage patterns. But that would be probably increase complexity considerably.

(And yes, I'm extremely happy about this module, that's why I test around all the time. Kudos to you developers! :)

Version: 6.x-2.x-dev » 6.x-3.x-dev

Bumping version since 6.x-2.x is no longer being developed.

I'd try to offer some answers, but I'm really not very up-to-date on how the groups integration works.
