I searched for this problem and found an old issue for version 5: http://drupal.org/node/292602

But I'm still encountering this problem for the latest release.

I've changed the granularity to Day only, but "All Day" still appears next to the date when the node is displayed. I did re-edit and save the node, but there was no change.

I think there needs to be an easier way to manage the "all day" thing. I would think if you've told the field to not display an end date, and to have a blank end date, that you don't want a date range at all. Maybe I'm wrong there, but this still doesn't seem to be working as it's supposed to.

This issue can be disregarded. There were additional settings that needed to be changed (time zone) for this to work, but the theme I use didn't make it obvious that an error had occurred when I saved the content type, so I thought the change had been made.
