This issues talks about a function already in uc_recurring that allows you to create a recurring fee profile to bill the customer:
#768190: Having to enter CC# every time with Authorize.net CIM
So if this module was able to create an order each month based on usage and other charges, then it would just be a matter of charging the order to a recurring profile.
It does require that the payment gateway being used is that type where you can charge any amount at anytime e.g. Auth.net CIM

sfyn commentedPresently it should be possible to get a workable recurring payment using uc_recurring. Better support will go in, one day.

jayelless commentedI have spent some time working though the problems with getting recurring billing to operate correctly in the uc_hosting environment.
One problem was that a new Ubercart Client was created for every renewal (as this is handled by UC as new order), because there was insufficient information available to the functions that processed the renewal. I have added code to pass the required values of "client_nid", "site_url" and so on via the order product details and suppressed the creation of additonal clients.
Another problem was that the order renewals did not contain any onformation about the site that were renewing (though this could be tracked back to the original order via links). I have added support for the site URL to be displayed on each renewal order (and stopped it appearing twice on the original order where it previously showed)
The changes are in the attached patch files, plus the new support module to be found from the sandbox project via
I recommend that this new module is made a sub-module of "uc_hosting".

sfyn commentedThank-you! I have tried, and failed, to find time to test this out, so this is me pinging my co-maintainers to get them to take a look

ergonlogicYep, no problem. Now that I have Aegir-up capable of easily building disposable dev environments, I plan on focusing on clearing up the uc_hosting issue queue, along with a couple other Aegir-related modules. That should be this week.

gboudrias commentedI tested the 3 things in #4. Seems to do what it says.
I glanced at the code, it looks fine. All in all the patches seem good, though this is obviously pretty important, so for anyone waiting to use them, I'd still wait for ergonlogic's confirmation.

ergonlogicThanks jlscott, et. al.!
Committed to 6.x-1.x branch in: http://drupalcode.org/project/uc_hosting.git/commit/9dda57af5e28b4ae1f2d...

univate commentedIt looks like this commit attempted to add the recurring module as a git submodule, so the actually code is not in the commit. I assume that wasn't the intention.
ergonlogicUgh... Thanks for pointing that out @univate.
Reverted previous commit, and add the directory properly.
