I'd like to have an easy understandable newsletter-subscription form, where interested guest are able to easily provide their emailaddresses (and ev. names) and subscribe.
I did not find this functionality in an actual release. Am I right?

Sorry, while trying to create an own helper module providing the functionality, I found the menu hook newsletter/subscriptions which is exactly what I was searching for.

Please provide a patch for the documentation if you have a suggestion how to point to this address.

Also note that for this use case we provide blocks to place on any location needed.
