It would be great to add the feature to insert more than one image at a time, like the add other item button.

decipheredOscar,
I'm making the assumption that the majority of people aren't going to want to insert multiple images inline in the one spot, which basically means the best practice would be to do one image at a time.
That's not to say I don't see a case where multiple in the one spot, would be of use, but I don't think the 'Add more' approach fits my KISS philosophy. Where there HTML5 Multi File field support, it would simply just work out of the box, and allow for some spectacular results when using the right Formatter. But this is not a possibility yet.
If you have any other thoughts on this issue, keeping it simple and usable, feel free to share.
Cheers,
Deciphered.

pkej commentedA bit strange that it doesn't support more than one image, especially since in the configuration of the field you have to set the number of images to unlimited if you want the page to evaluate. It says something like "wysiwyg filefield requires unlimited images"...

decipheredpkej,
It does support more than one image, but you need to add them one by one. Open WYSIWYG ImageField, upload image, insert image, rinse and repeat.
It doesn't support the ability to select multiple images (HTML5 style) and upload at once and FileField does not support that.
