Yep - agreed and will get to it. First will come the feature request related to adding a shoutbox to user's profiles because i think that bring more interesting functionality to the module. And I also think that will cause some important architectural changes to the module.

Hi,

I got slightly modified version of shoutbox in use, but this views integration that i wrote for it should work at least with little bit of fiddling around.

I am not using this module anymore, but more importantly, I have moved to Drupal 7, so I am unable to test #6.

Thought I would post a quick response, since I am the one who created this feature request. :)
