Yes, I know it means to be lightweight. But the Drupal core input format has cache. Filters could be very useful, for example, autobreak into paragraph or the mentions.module filter or some url shortener/autolink module.

jcisio: It has been more than a year since this issue was opened. Do you still consider this to be a feature request? If so, would you be the person working on or implementing it? I'm going through the issue queue and cleaning up. If you aren't working on this I'd propose moving the status to postponed (if you still want it) or fixed (if you don't need this any longer.)

I no longer use Activity (to be honest, I tried, then gave up). Thus I no longer want this feature. But I don't think it's a good reason to mark it fixed, as I'm not sure this is a private request, and I am the only user who wants this feature.

Well, module maintainers can of course decide to mark it as won't fix or postponed. I see in another issue that they've lost interest in maintaining the module, so I'm marking it "postponed".

D6 reached its EOL back in February 2016, and there is no active release for D6 for this module anymore.
Development or support is not planned for D6. All D6-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.

If the issue remains relevant for D10+ versions, merge requests with proposed solutions for a new module version (D10+) are welcome in a new follow-up issue.
