Filefield Paths and Video

When using with the video module, the filefield paths module changes the default file directory to "video/video/video" -- even though it was just using the default sites/default/files/video. So, after filefield paths runs, the converted videos get dumped into sites/default/files/video/video/video/video/converted. After I disable filefield_paths, I can see the default path for the video files has changed from empty to "video/video/video". I'm assuming the filefield paths module is doing this?
