So here's my problem, I've used Webform to create a metadata submission form for a catalog website, but here's my dilemma:

a) I need to be able to set permissions on individual submissions by the user, because the requirements is that once the data has been approved and cataloged, the user won't be able to edit it.... but can still see it listed on his submissions.

b) I need to rework the results table to include status updates like, "Submitted", "Denied", "Approved" etc.. like below _____________________________________________________
| Title | Creator | Status | Date submitted | Last Modified
-------------------------------------------------------------
(if there's a module that does this awesome..)

Now the thing is, I'm kinda really new at Drupal and stuff, so I'm
kinda stumped as to how to even start if any1 has done anything like this and give me push in the right direction I'd really really really appreciate it.

Webform isn't capable of what you're describing. Webform doesn't support revisions and doesn't keep separate submitted and modified dates. Webform submissions really aren't meant to be edited at all, it's intended to be a submit-once and then you're done system. The ability to edit is provided mostly to provide corrections, it's not intended to accessed regularly or have any extensive access control.

So if webform does not support these functions then... I'll see if there's a way to access the database in the submissions from another module to try and get it working then, I'll post any working code snippets I have along the way.
