I'm not able to drag/drop on my 'Home Box' page and I am getting the following javascript error:
$columns.sortable is not a function
I have read all of the other documentation and error reports regarding this issue, and none of the proposed solutions there have fixed mine.
Here are my specs:
- Drupal 6.16
- jQuery update 6.x-1.1
- Tried jquery_ui 6.x-1.2 and 6.x-1.3 (readme says 6.x-1.2 and current is 6.x-1.3) both don't work
- jQuery UI from http://jquery-ui.googlecode.com/files/jquery.ui-1.6.zip (as per readme)
- No optional plugins
- Tested in Firefox 3.6.3 with firebug installed and IE 8

My block setting are set to 'moveable' (block_settings.jpg)
I had tried the 6.x-2.x-dev version of jQuery update when 6.x-1.1 didn't work originally, and now when I tied to downgrade (deleted from server/ clear site cache/ upload new module) my report status (status_report.jpg) shows jQuery update 1.2.6 but show installed ok.
However, in my modules menu (ui_upgrade_module_settings.jpg) the correct version is shown.
I have cleared site cache, browser cache, and ran upgrade.php all throughout the process and still no go.
I think at this point I am completely stuck.
Can anyone help or has anyone fixed this issue?

dave reidWe got this figured out. Had a theme that was manually including jQuery 1.3 for some reason. We commented that line out of the theme's page.tpl.php and now Home box is working perfectly.

arviecarpio commentedi got the same error when i was creating a widget which uses the sortable function.
i was able to fix it by including the javascript, which creates the widget (and has the sortable function), at the end of my file.
example:
