dave reidDoug asked me to take a look and I shared a few concerns with him in IRC about the feed:
(08:32:17 PM) davereid: Ok so I looked it over but I have a few concerns.
(08:32:30 PM) davereid: Planet doesn't allow videos or fancy html.
(08:32:45 PM) davereid: And there's really not much text to the teaser parts of these articles.
(08:33:15 PM) davereid: So when they get aggregated, no one is really going to have any context about the articles besides the title.
(08:33:48 PM) davereid: What I do see a lot of people doing is add an image still preview of the video in the teaser, and more descriptions.
(08:34:16 PM) davereid: Stuff like "This is a short and sweet one because installing Modules becomes a whole lot easier in Drupal 7!" and a video that we have to click-through to get to isn't really good content for the planet
(08:34:35 PM) davereid: And I don't want you to think I'm just doing this for this feed. I'll be the same way on any feed. :)
So either the feed needs to get more selective about its Drupal Planet tag, or expand the content of each post, add more text or lead-in to the videos.

dougvann commentedThanks Dave. I'm glad you posted our IRC chat in here. I believe it will be quite helpful to others who may run into this snafoo as well.
I am personally glad that we have guidelines in place and equally so that we have people in place to enforce and explain the guidelines.
I'll hit you up when I have made the suggested changes to the feed items.
THNX!

dougvann commentedChanges made to posts to follow Dave's suggestions.
No longer do embedded objects appear on the feed
The step by step recipe that the video follows is now first on the page.
Please re-review.
Thnx!

dougvann commentedI have another blog post I'm holding off on publishing. It's a post about the newest alpha of Drupal7. I was hoping to post it after the planet feed is approved.

dave reidGrr, sorry I haven't had time to review this. For now I'm un-assigning myself. I hope to review any pending applications this weekend hopefully.

dougvann commentedNo Sweat Dave.
The PDD ed3 book is a MUCH higher priority than the planet.
