Could you perhaps add a functionality to translate all existing nodes later on?

This is not that important, but it's no fun to do this manually. Of course only not already translated content should be translated then.

This is kind of similar to #153541: Make translated node linking more robust so it also works with existing nodes (currently supports new nodes only), but I appreciate there may be times when someone wants to batch create translations. I haven't had much experience with the Drupal Batch API, so I won't be writing this myself, but here's what we need:

  • an action for batch translating all nodes that do not have a full set of translations already, using the Batch API to avoid PHP time-outs
  • an export of a new rule, triggered on cron, in the Rules module's hook, invoking the new action and disabled by default

If someone can post a patch with the above and it is reviewed and tested, I will happily commit.
