Hi,

I recently set up Drupal and installed Node Image, but I was also keen to use the HTMLArea editor for ease of editing my content. Unfortunately Node Image doesn't seem to like the editor and will not insert the necessary code. I get the following error in FireFox's javascript console.

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIDOMNSHTMLTextAreaElement.selectionStart]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: http://mydomain.com:8081/?q=admin/node/edit/13 :: node_image_insertAtCursor :: line 134" data: no]

Is there a fix or work around for this?

You're right: because HTMLArea has its own interface for editing the body of a node, it and node image are incompatible with each other. It would presumably be possible to change conditionally the node_image_insertAtCursor javascript function to instead use HTMLArea's calls if HTMLArea is loaded, but I haven't looked into this....

Thanks for responding so promptly. If node image was to become more compatible with HTMLArea I'm sure it would be a boon for us non-coders!

I've managed to make the necessary mods to get images & thumbnails uploading and displaying, and that works great with HTMLArea - unfortunately I'm having problems with formatting now! --- http://drupal.org/node/view/7214
