Install - Not understanding step 5 in documents [#687120]

Hi,

After all the time i spent getting the mod to work,
Now i don't know if it is for me, i wanted to have my shoutcast stream on our site.
Sometimes the stream will be live broadcasters, when it's not live we have an autodj.
When i get to step 5 about installing the streamripper exe, i'm lost from that point on.
I think i need some help understanding the uses for this module, or if it''s even what i wanted,

the archive assumes that you've already got a web streaming system setup. this guide will walk through one freebsd based setup that uses the line in on a sound card to do the streaming. there are also lots of commercial programs and web services you can use. if you're looking for ideas you might post a question on the drupal radio group: http://groups.drupal.org/radio

I don't know why we would need freebsd when we have a shoutcast server to create shoutcast streams,
Sorry it's too much work, and not really geard towards what i'm trying to do.
But strangly there's nothing else available for drupal so..

you don't have to build it with freebsd. i suppose i should have made it clearer that it was just an option. you made it sound like you had no streaming setup. you sound like you're struggling with this and—as poor as they are—those are the only complete docs for the setup so i pointed you to them. if you've got specific questions feel free to ask them.
