Hello,

Recently I published a new slideshow module. Consequently I was asking Kenn Swinehart, The slideshow comparison page creator, to make an update to the page. Please see the attached correspondence. Can you please help us overcome the technical difficulty?

Thanks.

Hello,

Guys, I need your help with setting up my permissions, so I can edit this page.

Thanks.

You cannot edit the page because you cannot use the input format used for that book page. Until #558398: Add table elements to Filtered HTML format is not implemented, and the input format of that page is not changed back to filtered HTML, nothing can be done. To be correct, there is something that can be done, but users are not made part of the documentation team just because they need to change one book page, and they don't help more with the other documentation pages.

Understood.

Any chance I can send the content to someone who has the permission so that person can help with the update?

Thanks.

Noone around drupal.org knows me by my first and last name. Thus using it to start this issue wouldn't have helped at all.

When I stated to file a webmasters issue it was expected that you would add to this issue what you wanted added to the comparison page for other maintainers to review. Not have them sort through an attached email communication.

I request that in the future rather than contact me directly (doing so doesn't get speedier reaction unless it's an emergency), you file webmasters issues. Doing so accomplishes three things.

First, It creates a public record of the discussion.
Second, It allows other site maintainers, doc teams members and those with higher permissions to weigh in on the request and complete the requested task if it's approved.
Third, and most importantly it avoids you sharing with the world, my personal information including my first/last name and email address which I would have preferred you didn't use. While the conversation is benign, my personal information is not.

Actually after reviewing this issue more closely, and reading the comments that have been added to the currently published comparison page, it seems to me that the entire page needs a clean up. Evidentally there are some modules listed which have been deprecated since the page was created.

Unless someone intends to recompile a (neutral) comparison page and update the list. Additions to the current page may not be the best way forward.

I'd suggest creating your own comparison of how your module is different than the others and inserting this comparison in your project page.

Re #4 - My apology for that.
That was never my intention. Merely sort of stupidity.
