Sergio, I don't understand these two instructions:
- Files must have this plurals form: nplurals=2; plural=(n != 1);
- They should have the gl lang code, too!

You should use a .po lang file editor to do the translation (it's easier, and the files are properly formated) Check http://drupal.org/node/11131 for a list.

I use poEdit on Windows (http://drupal.org/node/17564). Open the .po file, and under Catalog>Settings you can change the plurals form and the correct language, among other basic settings.

You should take a look at http://drupal.org/node/11130 for general translation guidelines, if you haven't already.
