Hi,
I installed node_image and spent a couple hours hitting my head against the wall to get the inline images with javascript to work. I'm pretty sure the problem is the way the src tags are being served. Looking in the javascript console of foxfire 0.8, I was getting this error:

Error: Syntax Error
Source File: $MY_URL/modules/node_image/transferImage.js Line 2

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">

I thinks like some sort of problem with the way drupal is interpreting the src call. When I exchanged the src tags for the code itself everything worked fine. I'm using clean urls and I'm not sure what other information is relevent but I'll happy provide it to get this debugged.

Thanks for the detailed error report and suggestions, this gives me much more to work with than previous error reports. I'll have a look at it and try to get this working.

In the 4.4 version I've put in an option in the module settings to embed the scripts rather than having them in external files. I'm thinking this might address the issue you report. I'd be happy to hear back if it does....
