smk-ka commentedSupport for Libraries API only exists in the 3.x branch of this module, but not in 2.x. Please update if you wish to make use of it. The PHPMailer class files should be placed in sites/all/libraries/phpmailer (note that 'libraries' appears only once in the path). Does this fix your issue?

pyxio commentedHi
I have the same error. I'm trying to run 6.x-2.1 which don't require the libraries so I'm not sure why I'm seen the white screen. Thanks. Kevin

smk-ka commentedCould you please try the latest development snapshot of this module? Given the fact that there were so many changes since 2.1, and the next stable releases 2.2 and 3.0 are really close to be released, I'd like to see if this error still appears with these versions. I'm using the 2.x snapshot in several projects without issues, and the 2.x branch will still be maintained in the future. It is identical to the 3.x branch minus Libraries API support.

njathan commentedI too had the same problem. As per this post copying the two files - class.phpmailer.php & class.smtp.php - in sites/all/modules/phpmailer/phpmailer solved the problem. Probably the readme should be updated.

Anonymous (not verified) commentedI had the same problem and did a bit of digging. Commenting out line 45 of includes/phpmailer.class.inc:
// Adjust path to SMTP class.
// $this->PluginDir = drupal_get_path('module', 'phpmailer') . '/phpmailer/';
did the trick. It looks like the module is still overriding PHPMailer's settings with its own location, which it shouldn't have to do anymore with the Libraries API.

sunConfirmed.
Thanks for reporting, reviewing, and testing! Committed attached patch to HEAD.
A new development snapshot will be available within the next 12 hours. This improvement will be available in the next official release.
Probably needs to be backported to 2.x.

smk-ka commentedJust committed a follow-up patch. Two notes:
1) We can't just remove setting $this->PluginDir altogether as per #5, since this only works if the PHP INI variable
include_pathis set to search the current directory.2) Using the Libraries API is still optional in 3.x, we must therefore also check the local module directory in addition to the libraries path.
