Drupal.org hit the half millionth node - by my cracked out math - which might even be right. And if it's not, then hey, it's pretty darned close.
Any chance I can get a fact check and then push this up on the front page (with the HTML filter turned on so we can see Dr. Evil)?
Thanks, peoples.

silverwing commented-1 - I really don't see the point. Sure, it's a milestone, but there are more important sites to be featured.

gdemetWhile that's definitely cool from a geeky point of view, I'm personally not convinced it's worthy of front-page promotion, especially when we've got a number of other stories in the queue awaiting review and/or approval. The one millionth node, OTOH, that's a different matter entirely ;-)
Of course, that's just my opinion, and I'm more than willing to defer to other folks here if they feel differently.

seaneffel commentedDang it. Then please delete the node http://drupal.org/node/623620 since it's just false.

silverwing commentedDo we have an update query on the half-million node mark?

gdemetRegardless of whether we've reached the half-million mark or not, I still don't think this should be a front page story, for the reasons outlined earlier in the thread.

gregglesIt's currently 507178.
And I agree with George - it's not really of front page importance.

seaneffel commentedThat's fine. I'll give up trying to celebrate a milestone of the Drupal project's life-long accumulation of knowledge.
