I have a strange bug, which I believe was introduced by this module - it doesn't happen when I'm using Cufon without using the module. I use the same font on both methods, and it supports these special characters.

What happens is that characters with accents (such as ˆ´`˜) and the character that follows them are both changed to uppercase.

For instance, the text

Notícias Beleza Manual de Sobrevivência Horóscopo

is changed into

NotÍCias Beleza Manual de SobrevivÊNcia HorÓScopo

Any clue as to what is going on?

Are you sure that the font you are using supports the special characters? Have you tried other fonts?

I am having this same problem but with the scandinavian letters å, ä, ö. Did you ever find a solution to this?

When using the cufon font generator http://cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/ Make sure you select the appropriate font subsets that are required for your language. Also make sure that the font you are using has these subsets. Options are:

  • Latin-1 Supplement
  • Latin Extended-A
  • Latin Extended-B
  • Cyrillic Alphabet
  • Russian Alphabet
  • Greek and Coptic
