if user selects the all, 'active' all, all filter on the issue search page and then clicks on a column header to change their sort order the filter resets (can be reproduced here, too).

yup, this is definitely a bug (reproduceable on a local test site and drupal.org). to be more clear (for example):

http://drupal.org/project/issues/acidfree

in the "project" header drop-down box, select "all", and press "search". it'll bring you right back to acidfree's issue queue. there are probably other variations of this bug, but that seems like a very obvious, easily reproducable one. no time to work on a patch now, but wanted to clarify this one in case anyone else is inspired to try to fix it anytime soon.
