robloachEnable Flowplayer, throw up an Embedded Video Field along with the Custom URL support. Put in a video URL of an FLV or something and it will use Flowplayer to display it. Unfortunately there is no support for playing YouTube or Vimeo using Flowplayer. Patches are welcome though ;-) .
.... Which brings up another point. It would be nice to have video display options, where you could choose which player the video is used to be displayed. For each provider, you'd have an option to display via supported players (Custom HTML embed code, the provider's video code, SWFObject, Flowplayer, jQuery Media, etc).

Anonymous (not verified) commentedPlaying vimeo and youtube content via 3rd party players is likely to cause trouble for either platform as they don't like giving away bandwidth for free and it's most probably violating an EULA of one kind or another.. You know those guys. :-)
I was looking for a similar solution and came across some rather unlucky stories. :-P There are some hints at the JW player forum if you'd like to give it a try (converting vimeo feed to fw player playlist via php for example), but I don't have a link anymore, sorry. Maybe google still remembers it, tho. :-)

ximo commentedI see the YouTube provider now supports JW Player, but still nothing for Vimeo. Is it the TOS, technical difficulties, or lack of initiative that's the cause of no JW Player support for Vimeo?
