I'm trying to paste iframe code into the little text-field for an external ad with no success, since apparantly pasting in an external URL does nothing.
When I create an HTML ad using the iframe code, it works and clicks through, but I don't receive a count on the number of click, just impressions.
Obviously, when using an external ad, it's necessary to allow this module's ad server track all statistics, as well as allow the client or agency to track statistics through a tracking tag. When enabling the External Ad module, the dialogue CLAIMS to use iframes to serve the ad, but these all come up with nothing.
Instead I get "
" and some other garbage.

jeremy commentedWhat URL are you trying to use when you create an external ad?
At this time, clicks are _not_ tracked for external ads or HTML ads. There is an open issue with a feature request to address this, but it has not yet been implemented.

g10tto commentedI see, so even if I were able to get the external ad to appear, I still cannot track clicks.
Is there an alternative to using the Ad module in order to make these work, or some way to work within it to track clicks?

jeremy commentedUnfortunately not. Currently clicks are only tracked for locally hosted advertisements. It's a known shortcoming.
