Please let me know if I posted this to the wrong area... I have no idea if this should go under Pathauto, Messaging, Token, or something else. However, I don't remember this problem before I started using pathauto... maybe I'm wrong, but I'll start here.

I am using pathauto to rename my URLs. I am using content/[type]/[title-raw] and user/[user-raw] for my node and user paths, respectively. The trouble is this: I am finding that my URLs are incorrect in two places:

  1. When the notifcations+messaging module sends emails to my users, I get something like the following:
    ... Read more <a href="http:///content/recipe/chocolate-volcanos">http:///content/recipe/chocolate-volcanos</a>
...To manage your subscriptions, browse to <a href="http:///user/keith/notifications">http:///user/keith/notifications</a>.

I should instead get links that include my site's URL: http://example.com/content/recipe/chocolate-volcanos and http://example.com/user/keith/notifications, respectively.

  2. These types of mangled URLs also appear on the website (in a few locations only--not everywhere). For example, if I go to a page to view one of my user's accounts, the breadcrumb is the following: <a href="/">Home</a>»<a href="//user/9">Steve</a>. (There is an extra slash in the URL reference).

Relevant contributed modules: Pathauto (6.x-1.1), Messaging (6.x-2.1), Mime Mail (6.x-1.x-dev 2009-Jun-08), Notifications (6.x-2.1), Token (6.x-1.12), and External Links (6.x-1.7).

Update: I was able to fix this issue with the emails by changing $base_url in my settings.ini file. It didn't fix the other issues, however.

I think this is probably an issue with the other modules and not Pathauto. They should use the http://api.drupal.org/api/function/url or http://api.drupal.org/api/function/l functions to create links which will automatically work (as long as the weight of the modules is to run after pathauto runs, which is a "10").

p.s. "needs review" is for issues that have a patch attached.
