I am trying (without success) to put a background color in the spaces user 1/8. I don't succeed however to understand as and what the file is to modify. How can I do?

I try to be more precise. I succeed in changing the color of background of the blocks what I don't succeed in changing it is the color of the single spaces. Considering that it succeeds me very difficult to explain me in clear way I attach an image where I hope him succeeds in understanding what I would want to get. Thanks for every suggestion and compliments for the good job
