grub3 commentedI am preparing a subsilver theme based on clouds.
Would you accept it?
michelleMoving this over to the Advanced Forum More Styles queue. This module, as the name implies, holds more styles. It's a great place for user contributed styles to go. Since phpbb is GPL, there should be no problem with having their images in it.
@eigentor: The issue was originally marked 2.x so I'll need to give you a hand with adding 2.x support to AFMS. I've got a pretty busy morning but can file an issue with instructions later today.
Thanks,
Michelle

This will take me some time before it is ready.
michelleThanks. I'm sure there's lots of phpbb converts that will love to have a familiar looking style.
Michelle
Comment #5
eigentor commentedUh this looks great. Wasn't Michelle also working on a similar style?
Just drop me a line whe you are ready
Does not have to be 100%. I can also live with 85%. :)
michelleNo, that was mybb I was cloning: http://shellmultimedia.com/blog/mybb-style-advanced-forum
You're welcome to take that and finish it if you like. It was more of a "proof of concept" for me, not something I am using on any site.
TBH, I've never cared for the look of phpbb forums. But I know a lot of folks love them so this phpbb theme will be good for the community.

eigentor commented@michelle: ah, this looks good also! Many people rather used to "standard" forums will like it. With some polishing, it should indeed be ready to go.
I really have to put more energy into this module... Well, October and November come.
I hereby announce another style soon to come, since the Client of a project I am currently working in has agreed tu publish it's stlye that is very puristic in being almost exclusively typographic, but very beautiful at least to my eyes.

grub3 commentedmyBB theme is fantastic.
Could you integrate it in CVS and make a devel release?
We are a community of thousands of members.
Some of us really need this myBB theme.
Then we can organize to work on this theme.
What do you think Michelle and eigentor?
michelleThat's up to eigentor. The zip is there. All he has to do is add 2.x support and drop the mybb directory into styles. Personally, I feel a little wierd about putting the default MyBB theme in a module but it is GPL and so is legal. It feels a bit like including Garland in a Joomla module, though. But, anyway, it's eigentor's call what he wants to do with it.

eigentor commentedoh, yes, oh, yes...
Code Freeze and all the D7UX stuff keeps me bound.
as I said, no luck before October/November
@jmpoure if you want to work on it, it is really very simple since Michelle has made the styles completely pluggable. Have a look inside the .module file and you'll understand.
Just change the .module file, create a directory by duplicating the naked style and remove all template files for a start (you only need them if you want to change more than appearance) and off you go. I am happy to explain this in more detail if you want.
michelleThe only change needed to the .module file is #563136: Add Advanced Forum 2.x support
If he wants the MyBB style I started, he can just grab the zip file and unzip it to the "styles" directory in AFMS and work from there. It was incomplete when I made the blog post and there have been some changes to AF 2.x since then that need to be accounted for, but it's pretty far along.
Duplicating the Naked style really isn't the way to go... That's like starting a new theme by duplicating Zen and hacking at it. Old school. :) You're much better off just making a substyle of Naked and only putting the changes you need in your new style. You can substyle any of the styles if one of the others is closer to what you want.
Michelle
Comment #12
eigentor commentedah substyle. How'd you do that?
No one wants to be old school... :P
Comment #13
michelleI just told it the base style was Naked so it inherits all that CSS and its templates. See http://drupal.org/node/512116

virtuali1151 commentedI would also like to try out the phpbb theme if it is available..
Cheers.
michelle@virtuali1151 It's very old and out of date. I would be surprised if it works at all anymore.
Michelle
Comment #20
eigentor commentedThanks for helping out the people, Michelle. Am ashamed of my sloppy maintainership :P
Comment #21
michelle@eigentor: Well, you've been busy in other parts of Drupal. It happens. If you don't have time for the module, though, I would suggest marking it as abandoned so people know.
Michelle
Comment #22
eigentor commentedClosing this for now, as I won't include the style.
