When using 'show back' => TRUE and going to the previous step the forms default values instead of the cached user input for this step is shown. To change this behavior the #default_value property has to be set for the forms properly. This patch adds some explanation to the advanced help wizard topic.

I totally agree. Am in Paris so won't get to committing this until after I get back, probably, or possibly at a code sprint.
