After I edit an event and click on save in the edit-page I get offered to download a json-file. The event-node is not saved and keeps on loading.

I couldnt find any setting/configuration for this behaviour.
Did somebody else experience such behaviour?

I can not rebuild this error and I doubt that this issue has anything to do with the timeline module. The 2.x branch is only generating a json array when generating the view. This is not going to happen on node save actions.

Please provide me more instructions on how to rebuild this error on a clean and fresh drupal installation.

I am sorry but I still used a very old version. I installed the current one and it works properly. Thank you for quick answering though.
