Using Panels 3.0 rc1 and Chaos tools 1.0 rc1, I'm not able to use the "node_view" page template to create a panel for a specific content type.

The listbox in "Variants - name of the variant -Contexts -Add contexts" lists only:

  • Node add form
  • Node edit form
  • Node
  • Taxonomy vocabulary
  • Taxonomy term

In the past, I'm sure there was also "node type"...

It's not a context you seek, it's the selection rules under the variant.
