Working locally on a Windows system with XAMPP, I use a filefield and an imagefield (with imagecache) both pointing to the same path at

[ogname]/[yyyy]/files

(-raw showed errors, resulting in the token not being translated into a group name correctly)

On my Windows test system, the files/images work as expected and are still subjected to the og access control (as they should, i.e. if a user not allowed to be in a group tries to watch a file directly, he's forbidden). However, on my Ubuntu life server, this access control is not working! The files can be opened by any logged in user without a rights check. The access control seems to work via a number that is added to the image url, and this isn't there on the Ubuntu server.

I'm rather out of my depths right now where the problem might be. Any pointers welcome. (Relative newbie so please explain lengthily :)

Hi itsnotme,

You'll have to bare with me on this issue as I've never personally used organic groups and therefore it may take me a little time before I'm able to attempt to reproduce this issue.

If you can provide me with any configuration information about how you have everything setup it could be extremely helpful.

Cheers,
Deciphered.

Hi Deciphered!

Thanks for your quick reply! It's already helpful to learn that something like that didn't crop up yet anywhere.

I decided I'll point my student co-worker to this problem and let him check if he can recreate the same problem on another Linux machine (to find out if it's an operating system problem aka maybe something to do with paths and rights or such). I hope I'll know more after my vacation (~2 weeks) and can post an update, whatever the reason might be.

P.S. It's really a big relief to have a maintainer reply so quickly :) *waves to Down Under*
