I have a currently used tabular view, but I want to experiment with a different tabular view, while not screwing up the current table AND while using the same data. What is the best way to go about this?

While we're at it, how do I change the way the information is displayed in the node?

The nodedisplay is handled in the theme, so is the rendering of the table. Please search for posts on how to theme flexinode.
