When using the 'Drupal' core module and 'simple access' with cvs or 4.7 version, the query generated by the core module

$result = db_query(db_rewrite_sql("SELECT cid FROM {client} WHERE link = '%s'"), $client['link']);

(on ligne 182 of drupal.module)
return no result and cause creation of a new entry in the client table.
Removing (only for testing purpose !) the 'db_rewrite_sql' call solve the problem. Hope it helps.

Regards

(Not tested with4.6 version)

That select cid confused whoever was converting modules to db_rewrite__sql (it might have been me...).
