Today I just sent a really really bad message that I really really regret. I wish there was an undo feature now.
Wait actually, would the delete message button delete the message from both users or just one user?

If you do want to delete the message, try going into the database to delete the message from the tables directly ore by using phpmyadmin. Just delete the message from pm_message and then the corresponding rows with the same mid from pm_index, pm_tags_index.
Saying that, I do allow admin users to delete messages for all users in #298502: Better access to another user's messages, but allowing users to retract messages is a whole nother thing.

If you feel that this issue is still valid, feel free to re-open and update it (and any possible patch) to work with the 7.x-1.x branch (bug fixes only) or the 7.x-2.x branch.
Thank you.
