I made this patch to remove the SPAN tags around the image. I can't remember exactly why, but this was causing me problems to create a theme that would correctly work with Internet Explorer and the image float left. With this patch the same style is applied directly to the image itself which solved my problem.

This is already fixed in HEAD. AFAIK we do not add new features to stable branches. Is that correct, James?
