Attached is a patch which lets the number of feed items being examined for field detection by the mapper be controlled. On long feeds of certain types the current hardcoded limit of 10 isn't enough. This patch would let you set it as high as is needed.

Project abandoned and Feeds module the successor. Marking closed won't fix.
