Currently, if you have missing/bad authentication information, if you hit the fieldmap url, you will get a fatal error.

We should fail more gracefully.

I haven't experienced WSOD due to missing creds a long time.
Does anyone have a specific case to test?

I know the admin panel has proper messaging now,
and the salesforce form for node and user objects fails gracefully too.
