Is it possible to include alt text with each upload image?
It would help alot with SEO on pages that are just galleria.
I notice when you right click the image go get a blank alt text.
Thought there might be a way it could be included.
Thanks for a great mod.

I don't know if there would be an easy way to set up Galleria to have alt data for images that are added using the upload module.

Mark Theunissen CreditAttribution: Mark Theunissen commentedUnfortunately this is only possible if you choose not to use the Lightbox integration, because Lightbox uses the alt text for it's own devious purposes.. ;)
I've written the necessary changes for regular Gallerias.

domineaux CreditAttribution: domineaux commentedI'm not using lightbox or thickbox.
Is this something that will be included in next update or is it already available.
Thanks again Mark for a terrific module.

domineaux CreditAttribution: domineaux commentedSo, I currently have one site with 16 gallerias...
I installed all images 8 to 24 images per gallera the original way, not through CCK imagefield.
It appears from what I read using the imagefield is how to provide alt text with each image.
I haven't done anything yet, but on the surface this looks like it will require a lot of re-entry or rebuild of gallerias to have alt text.
Any suggestions?

Mark Theunissen CreditAttribution: Mark Theunissen commentedYep that's right, you will have to re-input all the images using imagefield. :(
The only other way I can think of is if you override the theme function and manually set the alt text using PHP for each image.
Actually there are loads of hackish methods that will work, none really recommended...

domineaux CreditAttribution: domineaux commentedI previously mentioned a site I've got with 16 gallerias.
I used the image uploads to build those gallerias.
The imagefield is best go, because there is little or no SEO content on the site with just pictures.
The alt text field will make alot of difference so it is something I have to do.
Do you know if I change over to imagefield for creating galleria with the existing gallerias... the kind of problems I might have?
Is there a best way to change over?
I would like to preserve what I have, but I will do what is necessary.
Thanks

Mark Theunissen CreditAttribution: Mark Theunissen commentedYou should make a new content type for the CCK gallerias, because it is possible to use both methods on the same site. Then, I would just remake them manually by attaching the images. Once you've got the imagefield gallerias working, then you can delete the old ones.
