after installing the module out of the box I recognized that the fiields overlap.
Logging in was not possible (Firefox/Konqueror). See attached image

I'm unable to replicate this issue with a stock core theme (Garland).

solved!
After the last update of module jquery_update I forgot to copy jquery.js to the misc folder.

If anyone else runs into this (I have twice now), check the float on your form fields. A float will cause this issue.
